Greetings from PRL 713, Leadership and Ethics!
One thing about teaching and learning in an accelerated program... you hit the ground running! Classes started this past week and we are already deeply immersed in our work.
In our first class, we engaged in introductions and then jumped right in to discuss the pre-reads. Students have also already organized into groups for a group project which will be due week seven. Before the second class, students will have written their first journal entry, proposed an ethics in the field paper, and begun reading leadership theory and ethics.
For those considering this program, this may sound like a heavy workload... it is and yet students manage it and do good work! So much of what we cover in the readings and class relates to students' work and community leadership -- the work is not only demanding, but energizing. Already in week one, students ideas were being challenged and developed and this is an exciting endeavor!
More soon,
Harriet Schwartz
