Hard to believe we are moving into late July! While I am enjoying the freedom of summer (and the demands of working on my dissertation proposal!) I am also looking forward to returning to the classroom in August. I have met with some of my advisees over the summer and those meetings remind me how energizing it is for me to work with our students.
Looking toward the new semester, I have been revising the syllabus for Ethics and Leadership, the first course for most students in our program. I love teaching this class! The content, a mix of leadership theory, ethics, and application is incredibly engaging. And I appreciate working with students as they begin the PRL program. For some students this is a tremendously exciting endeavor and for others there is more anxiety in starting graduate school. I guess for most students, the start of a master's program includes a mix of enthusiasm and some nervousness. I value the opportunity to connect with students in this phase, the start of grad study.
For those of you reading this blog who have already enrolled, I look forward to meeting you in August! For any readers still deciding whether to join our program, feel free to email me at schwartzhl@carlow.edu, if I can answer any questions or if you would like to discuss the program.
Enjoy the rest of summer! See you in class!
Harriet Schwartz
Instructor, PRL
